Exploratory Data Analysis and Descriptive Statistics with R (EDA)
Teaches how to read a dataset with R through descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations and basic visualizations and turn it into findings and a brief interpretation.
Training content
- Frequency–proportion tables
- Measures of central tendency and dispersion
- Cross tabulations
- Segment-based breakdowns
- Basic visualization
- Producing findings and writing short commentary
At the end of this training, participants
- Will be able to quickly read and summarize the basic structure of a dataset.
- Will be able to produce reliable descriptive outputs by correctly using frequency, proportion and distribution measures.
- Will be able to show differences across breakdowns such as province/district/neighborhood or service theme through segment-based analyses.
- Will be able to turn EDA findings into a standardized reporting language in visual and tabular formats.
- Will be able to propose, with justification, which additional analyses are needed based on initial findings.
In this way, a strong foundational competence will be gained for data literacy and decision-support production.
